Sepsis

Sepsis

In the US, sepsis claims at least 350,000 adult lives each year. It is one of the leading causes of hospital deaths, taking a life every two minutes and often contributing to one-third of all in-hospital deaths nationwide.

Black individuals account for nearly 30,000 to 40,000 sepsis-related deaths annually, and they are impacted at roughly twice the rate of white Americans relative to population size.

This is unacceptable! Period!

HAKBI plans to research and develop a wearable device that detects sepsis infection, a technology to slow its spread through the body, and a treatment that prevents deaths.
